How to produce the vast volumes of low-carbon fuel needed to decarbonise the aviation industry, reliably and at scale, is at the heart of a program which is now seeking project lifecycle partners from the technology, engineering, construction and infrastructure sectors.

Equilibrion’s Eq.Flight uses nuclear energy to power sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production, offering a constant, low-carbon source of electricity and heat capable of supporting large-scale, continuous outputs which competing SAF pathways can struggle to achieve.

The programme, which is part-funded by the Department for Transport, is working towards the first commercial plant in the UK, and the development of a repeatable delivery model, which can be deployed across the globe and eventually serve the £1 trillion-a-year global market for jet fuels.

Built Confidence is supporting Equilibrion’s search for new partners. Companies in the technology, engineering, construction, and infrastructure sectors are encouraged to find out more about the opportunity on the Equilibrion website.

Hannah Vickers, Managing Director, Built Confidence said: “Unlike a traditional procurement exercise, the engagement is positioned as an invitation to collaborate that offers partners the chance to influence how projects are structured, delivered, and scaled.

“Performance, practical delivery experience and cultural alignment will be key, with opportunities for both specialist SMEs and larger organisations to play defined roles where they can add the most value.

“For the right organisations, this is an opportunity to take an early position in a new market and to help define how a global programme is delivered – not just how one asset is built.”
