Refreshing the consultancy sector’s business model
ASSOCIATION FOR CONSULTANCY AND ENGINEERING (ACE)
As CEO of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) – the membership organisation for companies working in the design, delivery, and management of our national infrastructure and built environment – Built Confidence’s Hannah Vickers launched a campaign to change the way the consultancy industry operates and collaborates.
Her Future of Consultancy campaign sought to change perceptions by industry and government stakeholders, presenting ACE’s 500 members as modern, forward-thinking, and solution-orientated. It positioned the industry as a strategic partner in delivering infrastructure and the built environment – with a stronger focus on data, whole-life value, and outcomes.
Identifying opportunities to drive growth and impact through innovation, new business models, skills development, and global markets, Future of Consultancy aimed to reshape how consultancies operate and collaborate with an end-goal of a sector which enhances productivity, attracts new talent, and has a strengthened role in supporting UK economic growth and long-term infrastructure delivery.
Building on Future of Consultancy’s success, a practical and proactive public affairs strategy ensured ACE was leading conversations with policymakers and civil servants in a crowded stakeholder space, while two of the top 10 engineering consultancies returned to ACE, growing the organisation’s financial resilience.
